Server Performance & Limits

The hard limits farm owners should know: 15 spawners per chunk, entity clear every 15 minutes, stacking.

Server Performance & Limits

Veylor deliberately allows farms. To make that work for everyone, there are a few fixed limits — you should know them before you spend three days building.

Spawners per Chunk

Maximum 15 spawners per chunk. If you try to place a sixteenth, the placement is cancelled and you get a message with an anvil sound.

A chunk is 16×16 blocks. So if you’re planning a large spawner setup, spread it over multiple chunks — the limit applies per chunk, not per plot.

The F3 key (Java) shows you the chunk borders. Plan your setup accordingly and it’ll fit on the first try.

Entity Clear

Every 15 minutes the server clears certain creatures that don’t belong to anyone:

Affected: Zombies, sheep, silverfish, slimes, magma cubes.

Never affected:

  • Item frames, armor stands, text displays
  • All minecarts — including hopper, chest, furnace, TNT and spawner minecarts
  • Tamed, named and stacked animals, Pets , bosses

Oak saplings lying on the ground are also cleared — that’s the typical tree‑farm overflow that would otherwise stay forever.

The cycle used to be one minute. Combined with theStacker this emptied mob farms, because a stacked mob counts asoneentity for up to 1,024 mobs. Since the fix, it’s 15 minutes.

Stacking

Mobs and ground items are automatically stacked instead of existing individually. How this works — and why lava farms still payout exactly as expected — is explained under Stacker .

Collecting Items

For farms that produce faster than hoppers can pull, there’s the Chunk Hopper : a collector for the whole chunk, with filter, shredder and sorting network.

AFK

After 7 minutes of inactivity you’re considered AFK, after 15 minutes you’ll be teleported to spawn. No one gets kicked.

Important: §17 of the Rules permits automatic farms as long as you’re playing — not while you’re AFK. That’s the distinction.

Intentional lag machines — massive numbers of entities, item‑frame walls, endless redstone loops — are prohibited and will be removed. If in doubt, ask via/ticketswhether your build is okay.
